Notwithstanding my core belief about the nature of true prosperity, dealing with our thoughts about money are more important than ever. And, few are more articulate on the psychology of money than T. Harv Eker, author of the New York Times best seller Secrets of the Millionaire Mind.
Although published in 2005, during a much better economic scenario, this book is perhaps even more relevant in these tough times. Eker's seventeen ways that rich people think and act differently from poor and middle-class people are as relevant today as they were in 2005.
Here is one example of Eker's seventeen theories (#5):
Rich people focus on opportunities.Poor people focus on obstacles.
Now, I am witnessing all manner of rich people being financially destroyed in this meltdown. But, I absolutely believe that many if, if not most, who lose their fortunes in this meltdown will be among those that most quickly create fortunes in the years to come. For they have what Eker contends is a "Millionaire Mind."
What kind of mind do you have? Are you fretting about the meltdown? Or are you looking for ways to embrace the downturn and to seize the opportunities being created as a result of the meltdown.
